I know you can 'get' the Legendary Lords if the AI recruits them and you confederate them but the AI really isn't very reliable about this and will sometimes just not recruit their LLs (because they'll sometimes over-recruit regular ones) or won't do what they need to to make them available, additionally in my hunt for information on the topic I've seen a lot of claims that Legendary Lords of other factions can actually die permanently as if they're a regular lord (which is a real bummer if they get caught out by a random doom-stack out of the fog of war or something similarly silly). It'd be well good!Īgain I know I'm necroing an old topic and the second game is just around the corner so CA is obviously focusing on that but if some time in the future they could add this fantasy and flavor to the campaign in the future (maybe even with the release of TW:WH2) I would be so delighted as I'm sure many other people who love to play the Grand Campaign would be as well. It would just be really cool and fun if after all the hard work and turmoil of pulling all these factions together under one roof with these diplomatic confederations to be able to have all the LLs together under your control, working together for the common cause, there could even be LLs you could only get by confederation, like if the Vampire Counts could confederate to get other Count Lords to bend the knee effectively (Like say the counts confederating Moussilon or Templehoff) or with the Empire, confederating Middenheim could get you Boris Todbringer as the Legendary Lord only available if you convince them to bend the knee to Karl Franz (a.k.a. I only really bring this up here because no matter where I look there's no mods that make this so, I can only assume this is due to coding constraints which only CA can really do anything about.
Like if you're playing Clan Angrund and you've succeeded in settling the Ultimate Grudge and you confederate the Dwarves why can't I get the Slayer King by owning Karak Kadrin or gain Grombrindal from building a Monument to Grimnir (not getting the High King I could understand since you basically usurp him by confederating the Dwarfs as a whole). If you confederate a sub-faction of your own faction you should gain access to at least some of the Legendary Lords they have. I know this is the umpteenth time this has been brought up and most of you are probably sick of it but really.
